What it is
safeTALK is a suicide alertness training workshop presented by Chris Pidd.
It’s designed to help community members recognise when someone may be having thoughts of suicide and feel more prepared to connect them with support.
How it works
Chris delivers the training in a way that makes a difficult topic accessible and practical.
The focus is on helping people feel more confident noticing signs and taking simple, supportive steps.

He presents the material in an engaging and approachable way.
What’s happened so far
Chris has delivered a workshop for Freestylers in Albury, with very positive feedback from those who attended.
The May 2026 session at PCYC Albury was well received by the eight people attending.
What’s coming up
Freestylers is supporting a free safeTALK suicide alertness training session in Albury.
safeTALK is designed for people aged 15 and over who want to feel more prepared to notice when someone may be struggling and help connect them with support.
The next safeTALK has not yet been scheduled.
