Freestylers isn’t about sitting in meetings talking about doing good.
It’s about getting out into the community and being part of something.
Sometimes that looks like a room full of people singing together.
Sometimes it’s learning how to support someone doing it tough.
Sometimes it’s picking up rubbish, supporting a cause, or simply showing up.
There’s no single type of project.
If it helps the community and people want to be part of it, we’re in.
Bringing people together
One of the things we’re known for is creating spaces where people can connect.
Events like PUBlic Choir bring the community together in a relaxed, welcoming environment. No pressure, no expectations, just people showing up, having a go, and enjoying being part of something bigger than themselves.
It’s social. It’s fun. And it supports good causes at the same time.

Building stronger, more supportive communities
Not everything we do is visible on the surface.
We’ve run workshops like safeTALK, helping people learn how to recognise when someone might be struggling and how to respond in a way that’s supportive and potentially life-changing.
It’s about giving people the confidence to look out for each other, not just assume someone else will.
Because those conversations matter.

Getting out and doing something practical
Some projects are as simple as getting outside and making a difference.
Plalkin’ is exactly that, walking while picking up rubbish. It’s a small action that adds up quickly when people come together.
No experience needed. Just show up, move your body, and leave the place a little better than you found it.

Supporting causes that matter
We also get behind people and initiatives doing incredible things in the community.
That might mean supporting fundraising efforts like the Shitbox Rally, raising awareness for causes like cancer research, or backing local efforts that are already making an impact.
You don’t have to start something from scratch to make a difference. Sometimes the best thing you can do is support what’s already happening.
Making it easy to help
Not every contribution needs to be a big commitment.
We’ve launched a Lifeblood team to encourage blood and plasma donation across our community. It’s something anyone can be part of, whether you’re a member or not.
If you’re already donating, you can join the team.
If you’ve been thinking about it, this might be the nudge.
Simple actions. Real impact.

Working alongside local organisations
We also partner with organisations doing important work in our region.
We’re beginning to get involved with initiatives like Carevan, supporting programs that provide meals, care, and practical help to people doing it tough.
It’s about working together, not reinventing the wheel.

It’s not a fixed list
What we do isn’t locked in.
Freestylers is shaped by the people in it. If someone has an idea, a cause they care about, or a project they want to bring to life, we back them.
That’s the whole point.
Want to be part of it?
You don’t need experience. You don’t need to commit to everything.
You just need to be willing to give it a go.
